£100k restoration for Hatfield Peverel station

Hatfield Peverel station has received £100,000 worth of restoration work, thanks to Greater Anglia and Capel C.S.

The investment has allowed for the repair and restoration of roof canopies, giving the Victorian structure a new lease of life.

The works included removing the existing roof coverings and removing and replacing damaged timbers, before re-roofing and redecorating two canopies – one on the north side of the booking hall, and one on the south side. Old guttering and downpipes have also been replaced.

Greater Anglia’s Asset Management Director, Simone Bailey, said, “Hatfield Peverel station now looks much smarter and is better protected from the elements as a result of this refurbishment.”

“I would like to thank customers for their patience while this work was carried out.”

“Investing in upgrades to stations across the network is extremely important to Greater Anglia, demonstrating our commitment to providing excellent facilities and service to our customers.”
