Celebrating the vital contribution women make to transport and logistics

We are less than a month away from the 14th Amazon everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards, which aims to attract more females into the logistics industry and celebrates the UK’s brightest female talent.

This year’s event, which takes place on July 8, will be virtual, with 66 outstanding individuals up for awards at the event.

Among those with the difficult decision of picking the winners was Rail Business Daily CEO David McLoughlin, who was part of the judging panel.

He said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed judging the awards for the first time. There were some incredible entries which made it difficult to decide the overall winners. I was particularly impressed by the diversity amongst the applicants and their skills.

“I was delighted to be involved as the awards are a necessary platform to promote the transport and logistics sectors as a career option for women.

“Diversity amongst teams is vital for innovation and growth. It was a privilege to be a part of the judging panel and I hope to participate again next year.”

RBD is supporting sponsor for the 2021 Awards seeing first-hand the showcase of progression and accomplishments with the industries of transport and logistics.

The awards span across categories such as International Inspiration, Industry Champion, and, new for 2021, a Tech Innovator. They recognise two winners per category; one successful industry ‘Leader’ and one individual at any stage in their career who is going ‘Above and Beyond’ for their business.

Maxine Benson MBE, co-founder of everywoman, said: “It’s been an extraordinary 12 months for transport and logistics, and one which has seen the industry have to adapt and innovate as never before.

“More than ever, it is important that we identify and celebrate the women whose passion, dedication, skills and leadership are making transport and logistics the dynamic and resilient industry that it is, and who have kept the country moving in the most unprecedented of times.

“We look forward to shining a spotlight on some of the most exceptional women whose achievements will motivate others to consider a career in the industry and shift the perception that it is a ‘job for the boys’.”

The winners will be announced at a virtual awards ceremony on 8 July 2021. Click here for more details.
