Hull Trains resuming its full service

Hull Trains has said it is going to reinstate a full timetable.

From Monday 14 February, the 19:08 from Hull and 07:27 from London King’s Cross will return to service. Additional carriages will also run from 18 February on Fridays and Saturdays, with ten-car services replacing five-car services.

This follows the reintroduction of the 17:08 Hull – London Kings Cross, and 20:30 London Kings Cross – Hull, which were reinstated earlier than originally planned on 7 February.

Hull Trains introduced a reduced timetable just after Christmas as customer demand changed due to COVID-19. As the country was impacted by the significantly more infectious Omicron variant, the operator said this caused uncertainty and a significant fall in passenger numbers.

The reduced timetable came less than a fortnight after the business had introduced its 94th service, the highest service level ever offered in its history.

David Gibson, Managing Director, said: “We have closely monitored passenger sales and reservations ever since we took the difficult, but necessary, decision to temporarily reduce our timetable on 27 December.

“I am delighted to announce that we are now in a position to bring back all services and can look forward to connecting even more customers across our route just in time for the February half-term school holidays.”
