Aaron Access completes Network Rail Bolton MDU depot work

Aaron Access has installed an automatic sliding gate for Network Rail at its Bolton maintenance delivery unity (MDU) depot.

Part of Aaron Engineering Group which was established more than 25 years ago, it is a multi-disciplined group of companies providing expert services, solutions and resource to the rail sector.

Stephen Austin said: “We have recently completed our latest install as Principal Contractor (PC) for Network Rail at Bolton MDU. Our client had security issues with manual swing gates which were constantly being left open.

“The installation included the removal of swing gates and the installation of an automatic sliding gate which includes a state of the art ANPR system as well as double height level intercom/access control vehicle access and personnel intercom/access control.

“As PC we carried out all the works in-house from the groundworks, line painting to the ANPR and access control. Our operator and control panel all stored and protected behind a full height lockable panel which only the client can access.

“Also, within the contract Network Rail had an issue with monitoring the battery and electronics store which is located some 80m from the building. To overcome these issues, we installed a thermal detecting camera system which gives the client eyes on the equipment and monitors any increase in temperature, along with the installation of a job specific fire alarm, this will give our client sufficient warning and notification of any potential issue.”
