Amazon Hub Lockers at London Northwestern Railway sites

Passengers using London Northwestern Railway (LNR) services can collect their shopping as they travel now there are new Amazon Hub Lockers at key sites across the network.

Online shoppers can order their purchases to be delivered to a locker as an alternative to a home or business address. They can then collect the item at their convenience. Amazon will send email notifications with a unique pick-up code, informing the buyer of the address and opening times.

Fourteen stations across the LNR network have had lockers installed as the project seeks to provide passengers with an additional level of convenience at their local station.

Robert Goode, head of property for LNR, said: “This innovative project will make life easier for our customers and allow them to pick up shopping at their convenience as they travel around the rail network.

“The lockers are already proving popular and I am sure we will see more people using them as passenger numbers continue to climb following the pandemic.”

The LNR stations with lockers already installed are Apsley, Berkhamsted, Bletchley, Cheddington, Hemel Hempstead, Kings Langley. Leighton Buzzard, Long Buckby, Northampton, Nuneaton, Polesworth, Tamworth, Watford Junction and Wolverton.

A further six lockers have been installed at stations operated by LNR’s sister company West Midlands Railway, including Stratford-Upon-Avon and Telford Central.
