Avanti West Coast’s Regional Communications Manager is taking on the London Marathon next month to raise funds for The Railway Children.
Richard Stanton takes on the 26.2 miles running challenge just two years after having an ACL knee operation.
His efforts will raise vital funds for the charity that provides protection and opportunity for children all over the world with nowhere else to go and nobody to turn to.
“Having lost a few close family and friends this past year, life is too short and there’s a part of me that wants to prove to myself I can still do it,” said Richard, who had COVID three weeks ago.
“Taking part in the marathon is also a chance to support the wonderful work of the Railway Children, at a time when they, and other charities, need our help more than ever before.
“I’ve been fortunate through work, to have seen some of the vital projects they fund.”
