Britain’s best-loved vicar to host Women in Rail Awards 2024

Women in Rail has announced that television presenter, broadcaster and writer The Reverend Canon Kate Bottley will be hosting next year’s prestigious Woman in Rail Awards.

Kate rose to fame when she appeared on Channel 4’s popular Gogglebox series and currently co-presents Good Morning Sunday on BBC Radio 2.

She is a regular presenter on television programmes including Songs of Praise, The One Show and Sunday Morning Live and made numerous guest appearances including on Celebrity Masterchef, The Wheel and 8 Out of 10 Cats.

“Women in Rail is delighted that Reverend Canon Kate Bottley will be hosting our annual awards,” comments Marie Daly, Women in Rail Chair.

“We very much look forward to welcoming Kate to the event and hearing about her experiences from working in a male-dominated industry. As an ordained priest, Kate shares a common ground with many women in the rail industry, navigating a predominantly male environment.”

“No doubt Kate’s unique combination of humility, humour and charm will add extra sparkle to what promises to be a truly celebratory and memorable event.”

The Women in Rail Awards showcase and reward individuals and companies, large and small, who have made a significant contribution to improving gender balance, diversity and inclusion in the UK railway industry.

As in previous years, the 2024 awards ceremony delivered by Nimble Media, will be held at the historic Roundhouse in Camden, London, on 16 May 2024.
