Buckingham Group appoints Richard Plant as Group Commercial Director

Buckingham Group is delighted to confirm the appointment of Richard Plant as Group Commercial Director with effect from 6th January 2020. Richard will be a Company Director and an integral member of the Executive Board.

Richard joins the business from Galliford Try where, from 2016, he was Commercial Director for the Infrastructure Division.

Richard is an experienced Commercial Director who has undertaken similar Senior Executive roles in the course of a career spanning more than 30 years. This has included extensive spells at both Skanska UK and Birse Construction.

As well as supporting existing Directors in dealing with high level commercial matters, Richard will be developing the consistency and effectiveness of the company’s commercial systems and undertaking a directing and supporting role with each of the Divisional Commercial Directors.

Buckingham Group continues to develop the scale and breadth of its services which has been reflected in the award of two contracts, at Fulham and Swansea, during the past six months, that are each worth in excess of £100 million. Secured workload is at an all-time high and projects of similar scale are in the pipeline. The business is set to continue its expansion with sales planned to exceed £600 million in 2020.
