c2c pledges to support Armed Forces Covenant

c2c Rail has pledged to honour the Armed Forces Covenant and adopt the Employer Recognition Scheme, supporting for the armed forces community in doing so.

The scheme recognises businesses efforts in employing reservists and veterans, while encouraging others to do the same

c2c’s HR director, Donna Thorpe, said: “We are thrilled to be a part of the Armed Forces Covenant to support those who have served this country with both past and present along with their families to honour and protect them, and offer equal opportunities and access to employment on the railway.”

c2c aims to support those leaving the armed forces and help guide them into employment in the rail industry. This scheme within the Covenant also ensures that those who serve, or who have served in the Forces, are treated fairly in the workplace.

The Armed Forces Covenant is not a charitable organisation but a promise from the nation to those who serve or who have served, and their families. The covenant is a signal to businesses that adopt the scheme that it will do all it can to ensure that those who serve or who have served are treated fairly and are not disadvantaged in their day-to-day lives.
