Christmas campaign launched to keep UK children safe

Railway Children has just launched its annual Christmas campaign and this year the international charity is focussing on its work in this country to keep children safe on the rail network. At this time of year the railways and stations are busier than ever – with shoppers and families out and about – but this only makes it even harder to spot vulnerable children who are drawn to these crowded and chaotic places. Working closely with British Transport Police, the charity knows what to look out for and how to help when a young person is in danger. Using tech to inspire and engage…

Railway Children recently took part in a project bringing virtual reality to the children the charity works with in Tanzania. These children, who scrape together a brutal existence on the harsh streets, were amazed and excited to be transported under the sea and across the Arctic…

Do your bit, and do it in your sleep…

It’s not too late to sign up for Railway Children’s annual Sleepout event – being held in January at nine station locations across the country. Sign up and spend one night of hardship to raise money for children who have to put up with far worse, every single night…

Or take part on two wheels…

If you’d rather push yourself further with a charity challenge, then join Railway Children’s inaugural Ride Vietnam event and tackle a 450km bike ride through the Mekong Delta to Cambodia next November. You’ll have an amazing Adventure and change children’s lives too…
