Come and see BCRRE and Rail Alliance at Railtex 2019

The Birmingham Centre for Railway Research and Education (BCRRE) and Rail Alliance are looking forward to attending Railtex again this year and we will be there in force alongside UKRRIN (UK Rail Research Innovation Network) and DIGI-RAIL.

Their stand (at location G60) brings together the BCRRE, Rail Alliance, UKRRIN and DIGI-RAIL teams and staff will be on hand to talk about our latest research, projects and innovation activities.

Their Railtex presence will include:

  • Rail Alliance breakfast meeting in the Piazza Suite 1 & 2, NEC, Railtex, Wedneday 15 May, 8.00am to 10.00pm – all welcome!  Come and enjoy a complimentary coffee and pastry and pre-event networking before the doors open to the exhibition.  Meet some of the Rail Alliance team and find more about the events and activities planned for 2019.  Register here.
  • DIGI-RAIL – find out more about this 100% funded programme available for SMEs looking for support with specific R&D challenges for the rail sector. Either come to the stand and speak to one of the DIGI-RAIL team or come along to the Rail Alliance breakfast meeting on Wednesday 15 May. Register here.
  • Securing the next generation, a Railtex Seminar, Thursday 16 May by Railway Gazette (Robert Hopkin, Head of Research & Education Development at BCRRE, University of Birmingham will be part of the panel) – Railway Gazette Group will host a panel discussion addressing the skills gap in UK rail and assessing how to bring through the next generation of rail professionals. If you are interested in joining the panel discussion, please e-mail walker@railwaygazette.com to register your interest.
  • Midlands Engine “Promoting Global Excellence in Rail” event at Railtex on Wednesday 15 May, Piazza Suite 1 & 2 (supported by the Rail Alliance) – Are you an international business looking at potential locations to establish business operations the UK? Hear from industry leaders and find out more about the growing rail cluster and why companies are choosing to base operating and manufacturing facilities in the Midlands region.  Speakers include Adrian Shooter, Chairman (Vivarail), Wendy Richards, Deputy Head of Transport Infrastructure at Department for International Trade (DIT), Alex Burrows, Managing Director (BCRRE and Rail Alliance), Mark Goldby (Advanced Manufacturing Specialist Midlands Engine and speaker name tbc (Transport for the West Midlands).
