Ensuring safe access for work on the railways

KITEStep has helped provide safe access for Network Rail operatives at Plane Trees in West Yorkshire.

The company was born out of a passion to innovate in the provision of safe embankment access-way systems.

A spokesman, from the Winchester-based organisation, said: “The Plane Trees Road access point utilised the KITEStep system where there were poor, narrow, slippery, galvanised steel steps that were irregular.

“The 1,800mm KITEStep system was installed to give safe access for Network Rail operatives and eliminate the risks associated with poor access.”

The company aims to create safe, permanent embankment access with the least amount of impact on its surroundings.

“To fulfil this objective, we arrange a topographical survey, site-specific design and engineering appraisal documents to client approval,” the spokesman continued.

“Our KITEStep is designed for demanding infrastructure environments, where there is a responsible attitude to keeping operatives safe, while working on the maintenance of a vital infrastructure network.”
