We’re delighted to reveal that the RIA Innovation Conference 2021 will feature an exclusive interview with former NASA Astronaut Charlie Duke.
During his time at NASA, Charlie was the flight controller on Apollo 11, part of the ground team in the Apollo 13 rescue and with Apollo 16, the 10th man to walk on the moon!
The Railway Industry Association have invited Charlie to be interviewed for the RIA Innovation Conference to share his experience of the Space Race, perhaps the ultimate example of human innovation.
Not only was it a huge triumph of engineering but it also helped develop processes such at Technology Readiness Levels and disciplines such as System Engineering and Programme Management which we in the rail industry and many others now take for granted. It is also, of course, a people story and we are delighted to be able to ask Charlie about his experiences.
