Floating Pontoon Solutions has celebrated 10 years of delivering high-quality services to rail and a range of other industries.

During this time the team has worked with some of the biggest names in rail, including AmcoGiffen and Murphy.

The business serves rail specialists across the UK from its headquarters in the North of England, priding itself in delivering solutions grounded in safety and calibrated to each client’s project.

Their work has seen them delivering access to bridges on complex and time-sensitive rail projects, providing pontoons for everything from engineering work and inspections to vehicle and pedestrian diversions.

But what is the secret to their success?

“We work in a way that’s very similar to dedicated rail businesses,” said Steve Wilson, managing director. “We are very safety-focused and also know that every engineering challenge is one that needs a bespoke solution – there is no such thing as ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to helping teams work in hard-to-reach locations.

“Of course, it isn’t just about the service you get: we use industry-leading equipment to make sure that rail teams have a solid and stable platform from which to work.”

Floating Pontoon Solutions’ interlocking platform modules are customisable to any shape or size, making them able to fit around posts, pillars, columns and corners. This is great news for those working underneath complex rail bridges, often many years old and by no means constructed with perfect right angles.

Each floating platform can support 175kg per square metre – and Floating Pontoon Solutions can layer those to withstand greater loads.
