Footpath and fencing upgrade for local school thanks to AmcoGiffen at Theale Station project.

A team of AmcoGiffen staff working on accessibility upgrades at Theale Station was able to put their skills to use by providing much-needed fence and footpath renewals at Theale Green School over the summer break.

The repairs have improved facilities for the pupils and staff at the large campus teaching 11–16-year-olds and sixth-form students.

The group delivering the repairs is comprised of volunteers from AmcoGiffen, Network Rail and Great Western Railway alongside supply partners L Lynch Plant Hire & Haulage Ltd who provided the plant and equipment, and McVeigh Parker who assisted with the procurement of the fencing materials.

The major construction work aims to improve accessibility at Theale Station. The scope of the scheme includes a new footbridge and lifts to ensure there is step-free access to all the platforms. Where possible, AmcoGiffen consults with local community organisations and representatives to understand how best they can make an impact while they are working in an area. This helps to make sure community impact activity is directed to the right people, in the right way.

Ben Krawiec, Project Manager, AmcoGiffen said: “We are delighted that we were able to extend a helping hand by putting our skills to their best use at Theale Green School. This initiative represents our commitment to creating a positive community impact where we live, and work and we are thankful for the continued support from our supply partners.

Steven Sutch, Director, L Lynch Plant Hire & Haulage, commented: “We thrive on supporting our customers and the communities we work in, and are grateful for the opportunity to support this project.”
