Global Logistics Staff Ltd to exhibit at FORS Annual Conference 2023

Global Logistics Staff Ltd is set to exhibit at the FORS (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme) Annual Conference 2023, celebrating its status as the only FORS silver-accredited driver-hire company in the UK.

FORS (which promotes and celebrates best practice in fleet operations) is holding its sixth annual conference at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Birmingham, on 2 November. Rail recruitment specialist Global (which provides skilled personnel on a temporary, permanent or contract basis) is one of a range of FORS-accredited operators due to attend the event, after gaining silver accreditation last year.

The business can now supply FORS silver-accredited HGV drivers (including road sweepers) to clients across the UK, ensuring that they meet the standards required on major rail projects like HS2.

Phil O’Loughlin, Head of Operations – Rail Plant and Fleet, explained that Global is a keen supporter of the voluntary accreditation scheme, which was launched to raise standards in fleet operations.

He commented: “We’re incredibly proud to be the only silver-accredited driver-hire company in the UK. We believe that the scheme produces safer, more competent drivers, and reduces incidents on sites and highways alike.

“At Global, we offer safe urban driver training to those of our fleet operatives working on major projects. We also provide training to external companies we supply, helping them to meet the standards required on these projects.

“My team and I are looking forward to returning to the FORS Annual Conference this year. It’s an opportunity to show our support for the scheme, and to connect with like-minded operators.”

Chaired by Andy Salter and with a range of transport industry speakers, this year’s FORS conference will focus on the theme ‘Building a resilient FORS Community for the road ahead’. Panel presentations are set to touch on several headline topics, including diversity, decarbonisation, and Version 7 of the FORS Standard.

FORS-accredited operators can attend the event free of charge.
