Greater Anglia appoints new engineering director

Martin Beable will join Greater Anglia in March 2019 from Arriva UK’s Trains Bid Team, where he is currently Fleet Director.

Martin brings a wealth of experience to the role having a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering and previously holding senior roles in the industry, including Fleet Director at London Overground Rail Operations and Fleet Production Manager at Chiltern Railways.

Greater Anglia’s Managing Director, Jamie Burles, said, “I’d like to welcome Martin to the team and know that his passion for delivering results will help build upon the forward-thinking maintenance approach and reliability improvement schemes that our engineering team has been developing over the past few years.

“It’s an exciting time as we start to introduce our brand new fleet of trains and Martin’s experience will help our fleet and depot teams rise to these new challenges as we continue to strive to provide punctual, reliable services to our passengers.”

Martin commented, “I’m delighted to be joining Greater Anglia at such an important time. We have a tremendous opportunity to change the way our passengers experience rail travel and I look forward to working with the team to deliver the biggest improvements on our railway for a generation.”
