HS2 Euston works start back up from this week

It’s been revealed that HS2 work at London Euston will start back up again this week.

The work had temporarily stopped last month to stop the spread of COVID-19.

A Network Rail spokesperson said: “Work at Euston in preparation for Britain’s new high-speed railway HS2 will resume from this week in line with Government advice that construction work on the railway should continue as long as safe procedures are followed.

“Network Rail is taking all necessary precautions to keep its staff safe and the railway running. We will continue to follow Government guidelines in the weeks and months ahead.

Once complete, HS2 will more than double the number of seats out of Euston station during peak hours and free up space on the West Coast mainline for more local distance commuter services to places like Watford, Northampton and Milton Keynes.

HS2 will deliver eleven new 400m long platforms, a new concourse and improved connections to Euston and Euston Square Underground stations.
