Improving accessibility for passengers at Coulsdon South

Network Rail will be installing lifts to the platforms and a new footbridge to be provide step-free access at Coulsdon South for the first time.

Work will commence on the Access for All scheme at Coulsdon South station on Tuesday 28 May. The project is scheduled to be completed by early 2020.

This will make the station much easier to use for passengers with mobility issues, older people and parents with young children. This work is being delivered by Network Rail as part of the Department for Transport’s Access for All programme.

Commercial Sponsor for this project at Network Rail, Hodan Hassan, said “We are looking forward to working with BAM Nuttall to provide full accessibility for the travelling public. We know this work will make a positive difference for passenger journeys from and to Coulsdon South.”

There will be some spaces within the station car park that will be suspended throughout the entire project. In addition, there will be a couple of temporary full closures of the car park when the lift shafts are craned in. Passengers will be notified in the station ahead of each temporary full closure of the car park.

Network Rail is delivering and managing this on-going programme of Access for All schemes and other station accessibility enhancements.
