The Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC) has agreed heads of terms with Government, the Department for Transport and Network Rail for a £10bn scheme to combine 70 acres at Old Oak in a single public sector development site, Construction Enquirer reports.

It said the move gave the developer market a “clear run” at one of the UK’s largest regeneration projects, which encompasses plans for 8,000 homes, 200,000 square metres of commercial and community space, new parks and public realm, and 11,000 jobs.

OPDC will now begin a two-stage bid contest to find a development and investment partner for the scheme.

It added that the hub station (which is set to link HS2, the Elizabeth line, Great Western Main Line and Heathrow Express) would “anchor a new canal-side district and major hub for tech, research and business in west London.”

London Underground passengers have been told to expect disruption between 19 and 22 May, after the RMT union confirmed strike action, Rail Advent reports. The action is part of an ongoing dispute over proposed voluntary four-day working arrangements for Tube drivers.

Transport for London said that, while reduced timetables and altered operating hours were expected to be in place during the action, services would continue to operate on most lines.

According to Rail Advent, there is expected to be no service on the Circle line or Piccadilly line during the strikes. The Metropolitan line is also likely to be suspended between Baker Street and Aldgate, while services are not expected to run on the Central line between White City and Liverpool Street.

The operator is reportedly selling 15,000 tickets for £1.50 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Settle to Carlisle line opening to passengers.

The Yorkshire Post said that these tickets are valid for a single journey between Leeds, Settle and Carlisle, from May 22 until July 17 – adding that journeys must be booked at least seven days in advance.
