InnoTrans postponed until next year

InnoTrans, the world’s leading trade fair for transport technology, due to be held in September 2020, has been postponed and will now be held next April 2021.

The event takes place every two years in Berlin, with the last event featuring 3,062 exhibitors from 61 countries presenting the global rail industry’s innovations to 153,421 trade visitors.

The 13th edition was due to take place from the 22nd to 25th September 2020 but, will now take place from 27th to 30th April 2021.

The decision was made by Messe Berlin after the Senate of Berlin imposed a ban on staging large events with an attendance of more than 5,000 people until the 24th of October 2020 in a bid to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Kerstin Schulz, director of InnoTrans, said: “The health and safety of exhibitors, trade visitors and all the employees at the trade fair have the utmost priority. For this reason InnoTrans will take place from 27 April to 30 April 2021.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank our exhibitors at InnoTrans for their cooperation and loyalty.”
