RSSB has launched the trial of its new employment service ‘With You in Mind’ for rail staff experiencing difficulties with their mental health.
Colas Rail has been named as the first company to join the trial, demonstrating industry leadership in the promotion of employee wellbeing.
The trial will deliver support directly to employees experiencing mental health difficulties and to rail companies to improve their confidence in supporting staff with mental health difficulties. It enables employers and peer supporters to access mental health training to improve understanding and confidence in managing mental health in the workplace.
‘With You in Mind’ is one of 19 initiatives across the UK selected to receive funding from the Work and Health Challenge Fund. The fund is the latest in a series of government measures which form part of a 10-year strategy to see one million more disabled people in work by 2027.
The trial will run until February 2020 and RSSB is expecting to have participation from three additional pilot companies.
