London North Eastern Railway (LNER) has shown the first of its InterCity 225s to get a full repaint and rebrand out on the network.
Pictured on the East Coast route, the train operator said locomotive 91127 and rake of coaches NL17 will re-enter passenger service in due course.
As reported, the work features LNER’s colours of red, oxblood, grey and white, along with its logo, bringing a new look to the trains while also giving a nod to the past.
Work on the first locomotive and coaches to carry the new livery has been completed at Wabtec’s Doncaster works as part of a scheduled essential maintenance programme. The fleet, leased from Eversholt Rail, will receive a full repaint and rebrand during the coming months as the rolling stock is brought in for maintenance.
