RIA Scotland has announced that Lorna Gibson has been appointed Vice Chair of the group. She is currently Training Director of rail engineering company QTS Group Ltd. Lorna has over a decade of rail experience and is a founding member and Chair of Women in Rail Scotland.

As Vice Chair Lorna will work with RIA Scotland Chair Campbell Braid to set the strategic direction and work programme for the group going forward.

RIA Scotland Vice Chair Lorna Gibson said: “I am excited to take up the role of RIA Scotland Vice Chair. It’s a critical time for Scottish rail suppliers as the current Control Period concludes and the next one begins in April 2024.

“RIA Scotland provides a strong voice for suppliers with key decision makers and senior stakeholders in calling for pipeline visibility and certainty. I look forward to working with colleagues and partners to further promote the value of the rail supply community in Scotland.”

Campbell Braid, Chair of RIA Scotland said: “It is great news that Lorna is to be our new Vice-Chair. The breadth of her experience and skills will boost the wider leadership group in leading and developing RIA Scotland. I look forward to working with her.

“I’m encouraged that RIA Scotland continues to build momentum as an organisation and delighted that Lorna has joined us as Vice Chair at this time. We are committed to making the case for why rail investment delivers value for the people of Scotland and supports our Net Zero ambitions.”
