Make more of your time at RIN Derby 2023 with these top networking tips

The Rail Infrastructure Networking (RIN) event in Derby is shaping up to be one of the most highly anticipated and biggest of all time, with Network Rail, AmcoGiffen, Story Contracting and Unipart Rail amongst the 120 exhibitors registered to participate on 21st September.

It’s anticipated that more than 400 rail companies will be represented at the event, as buyers, directors, decision makers, and professionals from across the industry join visitors and invited guests to walk the floor.

Ahead of the big day, the team behind the event have the following top tips. If you’ve already got your ticket or are planning on registering, follow these helpful hacks to really get the most from the event:

  • Planning and preparation:  Get to know all the exhibitors in advance using our essential RIN exhibitor list and highlight the stands you plan to visit. Having a purpose means more targeted networking.
  • Use LinkedIn:  The RIN LinkedIn page keeps you up to date and informed with opportunities and extra event updates.
  • Manage your time wisely: The event starts from 9:30am and finishes at 1:30pm – and that time goes fast! Get yourself there early and arrange to meet contacts or colleagues for coffee on arrival. If you set networking objectives, such as time to speak to exhibitors, then you’ll get the maximum return from the event.
  • Talk to new people:  RIN events host an impressive range of businesses and connections from across the supply chain – some of which will offer very unique solutions to your equally unique issues. Make sure you speak to new people and seek out new faces. To make joining a conversation easier, why not pre-prepare an opening gambit?
  • Raise brand awareness:  RIN provides a huge opportunity to raise the profile of your brand in front of hundreds of like-minded individuals. Be ready to sell your solutions and benefits. Remember – it’s not what you do, but what you can do for the end user that matters!
  • Always follow up:   Don’t move on to the next person or exhibitor without getting the details of the people you speak to and be sure to follow up with a call or meeting after the event.

Antoinette Stevenson, Marketing Manager for RIN Events, said: “RIN has always created a welcoming and friendly environment for exhibitors and visitors alike, to meet face to face and generate opportunities which ultimately benefit the industry as a whole.

“There is recognition in this through the number of people that have already registered to exhibit and visit the event in September. As we enter CP7 there is a need and want for stronger relationships and new partnerships to be forged within the rail supply chain and this is one of the biggest networking events in the industry that can help businesses to achieve this.

“We encourage people to register as a visitor for free on our website now and plan ahead – the opportunities at RIN are not to be missed.”

So, if you haven’t already booked your visitor ticket for this very special event, what are you waiting for? Book your place today at RIN Derby 2023.
