New contract signed by Wabtec and Deutsche Bahn builds on longstanding partnership

Wabtec Corporation and Deutsche Bahn (DB) have signed a new agreement which allows them to optimise the maintenance and operation of Wabtec equipment used on DB trains.

The agreement builds on a longstanding relationship between the two organisations and helps the two make strides towards their sustainable transportation goals.

The two businesses will work together as a joint Steering Committee on a number of projects, in order to enhance the reliability, availability, and life cycle of Wabtec equipment used on Deutsche Bahn trains.

The main focus of the committee will be door systems, HVAC, and brakes. The two businesses will work side-by-side on design, testing, and implementation of product improvements, as well as pilot future cutting-edge technologies.

Lilian Leroux, president of Wabtec’s transit segment said: “By combining our expertise, data, and people, we will significantly extend the lifespan of Wabtec equipment on board Deutsche Bahn trains.

“The innovations that arise from this collaboration will advance a sustainable future for Deutsche Bahn and the transit industry as a whole.”

A number of executives from both companies attended a video ceremony where the agreement was signed.
