Stuart Meek will become Interim Managing Director at South Western Railway (SWR) from 19 March. He takes over from Claire Mann, who will be leaving SWR to take up the position of Chief Operating Officer at Transport for London.
Since his appointment in August 2022, Stuart has led the operations team as well as championing SWR’s diversity and inclusion agenda.
Steve Montgomery, First Rail Managing Director, said: “The next few months are an exciting time for SWR as the roll out of new Arterio trains continues, and the team continues to focus on delivering an excellent service for our customers. Stuart has had a notable effect at SWR by working hard to improve performance, and I know he has the energy and capability to bring people together to deliver our plans.”
The process to recruit a permanent appointment is now underway.
