Pennant International acquires Track Access Services
Pennant an established long-standing supplier in the Rail Sector of O & M Manuals, Training courseware, Virtual reconstructions, ECR Simulation and RAMS Software is delighted to enhance its capabilities in the rail sector further by the acquisition of Track Access Services (TAS).
TAS is a well-respected and highly valued supplier of Video, Simulation Modelling and Survey data.
With a focus on training and safety, TAS are experts in the production of Driver Route Learning Material for Network Rail and Train and Freight Operating Companies, drafting railway maps and collecting in-cab driver’s eye video footage delivered via their PC application or online via the TrackAccessPortal.com.
TAS are leaders in the production of realistic Simulation Modelling used to visualise Enhancements and Renewals of railway infrastructure and provide operational briefing to drivers prior to commissioning. Through this work TAS have developed strong links to simulator manufacturers enabling their accurate and realistic models to be installed on full cab driving simulators.
In the area of survey and engineering, TAS have used their operational experience and relationships to develop methods of collecting both Geo-located video and 360-degree laser scans of the railway from timetabled, in-service locomotives, improving safety, reducing data collection time and reducing overall survey cost.
TAS were selected as finalists for the Innovation in Rail and Transit category of the Bentley Year in Infrastructure Awards on two occasions for their work in simulation and video survey.
