Proud to be providing a platform for the Women in Rail Awards 2021

Railbusinessdaily.com is an official media partner for next year’s Women in Rail Awards.

Nominations are open for the awards which showcases and rewards individuals and companies (large and small) who have made a significant contribution to improving gender balance, equality, diversity and inclusion in the UK railway industry.

A prestigious ceremony takes place on the evening of Thursday, 20 May 2021 at the historic Roundhouse in Camden and will be hosted by Ms Naga Munchetty, journalist, broadcaster and television presenter.

Dean Bruce, Managing Director of Railbusinessdaily.com, said: “It is a great privilege to be associated with such a wonderful awards’ ceremony. It has been a difficult year and we are proud to be able to help shine a light on those who have done amazing work to improve gender balance, equality and diversity in the industry and help others feel included.

“The Women in Rail Awards continues to grow from strength to strength every year and I hope that, as media partner, we can help play our part in helping this success continue.

“With the nominations now open, I would urge everyone to take a look at the categories and put forward those who not only have inspired them but also supported others in the last few months, making our industry the success it is. Let’s give them the recognition they deserve.”

The award categories:

  • Female Apprentice of the Year Award
  • Rising Star of the Year Award
  • Inspirational Man of the Year Award
  • Inspirational Woman of the Year Award
  • Top Employer Award
  • Best Apprenticeship Scheme Award
  • Best Graduate Programme Award
  • Social Inclusion Award

This year, the nomination process has been simplified to make it easier to nominate. When establishing the shortlist for each category, the judges will focus primarily on the 750 words nomination form, with any supporting document only taken into account when deciding the winner among the shortlisted entries.

Adeline Ginn MBE, Founder of Women in Rail and Director at CPMS Group, said: “We are delighted railbusinessdaily.com will be our media partner to the Women in Rail Awards 2021.

“In the midst of the challenges of the pandemic, we have witnessed wonderful acts of kindness and compassion from colleagues across the rail industry and next year’s awards will be a great opportunity to celebrate our industry’s heroes.

“We have already received several heart-warming nominations and look forward to welcoming our supporters, sponsors and winners to the 2021 Awards in May and together celebrate our industry’s values and renewed efforts to achieving true equality, diversity and inclusion across all grades and roles within rail.”

Nominations opened last month, with the closing date of Friday, March 5, 2021.

Be the first to nominate and help demonstrate the industry’s commitment to supporting the Women in Rail agenda by celebrating those companies and individuals who work hard to improve gender balance, equality, diversity and inclusion in our sector in line with the objectives of the joint WR/RIA EDI Charter.
