Rail Aid Railwayana Auction raises more than £42,000

This week, Rail Aid has provided an update on their exceptionally well-received auction, as well as a special message of thank you to all those who supported the event:

This year, Rail Aid teamed up with auction specialists, Great Central Railwayana Auctions, giving the real rail enthusiasts of the industry the chance to bid on a number of excellent items such as nameplates and headboards.

On Saturday 11 December, the lots went to auction and a grand total of £42,179 was raised. This is money we couldn’t have raised without people like yourselves! The Rail Aid team would also like to give a big shout to Great Central Railwayana Auctions, who provided great insight and support throughout, and Porterbrook who donated a significant chunk of the lots which went to auction, there really were some incredible items available!

The team will be on the lookout for more lots next year, so start thinking and identifying any items you think would be suitable for your organisation to contribute. This could include nameplates, boilerplates, timetables, station signs, dining car linen and crockery – any railwayana you think would excite your fellow rail enthusiasts!
