Rail Delivery Group launches podcast series discussing how best to reconnect Britain

The Rail Delivery Group (RDG) has launched a new podcast series called ‘Big Conversations’, discussing how best to reconnect Britain post-pandemic.

Initially consisting of six episodes, the podcast feature leading minds from across sectors and industries, in conversation with the host, Robert Nisbet, RDG’s Nations and Regions Director.  The series will reflect on rail’s role in the big picture of revitalising UK’s communities, cites, businesses and industries.

The podcast series launched with Jo Causon, CEO of The Institute of Customer Service, discussing what the customer of the future might look like, and how industry – including rail – can adapt to changing consumer needs in a post-COVID world.

Andy Bagnall, Director General of RDG, said: “Many sectors are talking now and asking questions about ‘What next?’ As the rail industry moves towards reform, we must play our full part in those conversations and, likewise, other sectors see the benefit of engaging openly and constructively with us, as we connect our nations once again and help drive the UK’s recovery.

“So where do we start? By asking the obvious questions and listening to the answers as we, like so many others, work out how to best meet the challenges ahead. What do our businesses need? What do our communities need? What do our high streets need? And most importantly – what do our customers need?”

Following on from episode 1, which was released on Tuesday, March 30, below is a list of upcoming episodes.

  • Episode 2 (8 April): What’s next for the high street? with Paul Swinney, Director of Policy and Research, Centre for Cities and Helen Dickinson, CEO, British Retail Consortium
