Rail minister celebrates return of Railway Carol Service

After a two-year hiatus, the annual Transport Benevolent Fund Rail Staff Carol Service has returned.

Rail Minister, Huw Merriman MP, will join colleagues from across the railway as we celebrate the season with readings, and carols led by London’s Transport Choir.

Merriman said:  “I’m delighted to be joining the Transport Benevolent Fund CIO, and others across the rail family in celebrating the festive season with readings and carols led by London’s Transport Choir.

“The TBF’s work is incredibly valuable in supporting our railway workers and the wider public transport community who may find themselves in need.”

This year’s event is sponsored by long-term supporters Network Rail, Rail Safety and Standards Board, Rail Freight Group and Porterbrook. We are also very grateful to GBRTT and the Rail Forum for also adding their support this year.

It will take place at 12:30 on Thursday the 15th December at St Mary’s Somers Town, on Eversholt Street (near London’s Euston Station).

Rupert Brennan Brown, part of the organising team, said: “We are really looking forward to this year’s service which is open to all members of the #RailwayFamily and wider community.

“We’re also delighted that rail minister, Huw Merriman, will join us as we gather to sing carols and take time to reflect as we prepare for Christmas.”

A collection will be taken during the service to support the work of the Transport Benevolent Fund CIO.
