Railfuture encourages visitors to book a place now ahead of national conference

Organisers of Railfuture’s Annual National Conference, being held in Bristol, are encouraging rail professionals to book their places now to avoid disappointment.

This year focuses on one of the biggest topics currently discussed in the rail industry – inclusion and accessibility for passengers. As part of this, Railfuture has secured some big names to provide valuable insight into the approaches they are using, which in turn will help businesses shape strategies towards this going forward.

The conference will take place on Saturday 21st September from 10am – 4:30pm at St Michael’s Church Centre, a modern conference centre complex a stones’ throw from Bristol Parkway station. Tickets are just £25.

Speakers include:

Matthew Golton, Deputy Managing Director, Great Western Railway

– “Enhancing the Passenger Experience at our Stations”

Lorna Brown-Owens, Access and Inclusion Manager, Network Rail

– “Shaping Accessibility: How Network Rail will put passengers first”

Richard Gibson, Communications Manager, CrossCountry Trains

Jon Harris, Integrated Transport and Accessibility Manager, West Midlands Trains

– “Putting Passengers First – Supporting the Door to Door journey  – An insight into West Midlands Trains’ Stations as Places, Personalised Travel Planning and Equality perspective”

Guest Chair, Stephen Brookes MBE – Rail Sector Champion for the minister for disabled people

Railfuture’s Membership Director Wendy Thorne said: “This year’s national conference is one that will make such a difference to businesses and we implore them to book their place now to avoid disappointment.  With businesses of all sizes adopting and developing new techniques to improve accessibility for passengers on the network, our keynote speakers will provide valuable insight on various topics, as well as networking opportunities to help develop your business.”

A free workshop session, allowing delegates to highlight areas that they would like to see improved for passengers using the rail network, will round off the day.

Tickets, priced at just £25, give delegates admission to the conference, a goody bag and includes complimentary refreshments and a buffet lunch.
