RBF Heart of Gold Awards nominations close this Thursday

Nominations for the much-loved Railway Benefit Fund Heart of Gold Awards close on Thursday 30th September!

Do you know somebody in the rail industry who truly has a Heart of Gold? Show your appreciation by nominating them for one of this year’s awards.

The RBF Heart of Gold Awards celebrate those in the rail industry who go the extra mile and make a real difference. The nominations and voting are by the everyday people who work in rail – giving them the opportunity to thank the colleagues they appreciate, value and who inspire them.

This year, the charity is elevating the awards to a new level with four brand new categories:

Lifetime Achievement Award- Sponsored by Abellio Rail Replacement

The Lifetime Achievement Award is for someone who has demonstrated their Heart of Gold throughout their career in rail. This person may be a mentor to others, a supportive figure, or even just a friendly face.

Nominees for this award would usually have worked in rail for at least 15 years.

Team Award- Sponsored by Amaro

The Team Award is for an amazing group of people who all work in the rail industry. They work together, support each other and achieve amazing things as a group. You may wish to nominate:

· Your own work team

· A team you manage

· A team of people who have fundraised together/ team of volunteers

Rising Star Award- Sponsored by RPMI

The Rising Star Award is for someone who has made a big impact in a short space of time. This person is new to the Railway Family but has already displayed incredible acts of kindness and is inspiring others to do the same.

Nominees for this award would usually be within their first 5 years of working in rail.

Going the Extra Mile Award- Sponsored by Furrer + Frey

The Going the Extra Mile Award is for someone who always goes above and beyond to make others happy. Whether it’s their amazing customer service, incredible community fundraising work, or even just their love of making people laugh- this person deserves to be recognised for their Heart of Gold.

Ian Jeffrey, Ancillary Services Director at Abellio UK said: “Abellio Rail Replacement are proud to be sponsoring the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s Heart of Gold Awards. This award celebrates those who have demonstrated a lifelong commitment to rail and the Railway Family, which is why we’re supporting it.”

Elaine Kenny, HSQE & Compliance Manager at Amaro said: “We’re delighted to be able to sponsor the Team Award at this year’s Heart of Gold Awards. Not only is the RBF (and the work they do) a cause close to our hearts, as a business, teamwork is critical to the successful delivery of our projects. It’s no surprise, therefore that we want to celebrate those teams in rail who achieve amazing things by working together.”
