Remembrance Services planned across the rail network

Chaplains from Railway Mission will be leading services across the railway network in November for staff and passengers who wish to pay their respects to all those affected by war.

The services will be held at stations and depots across the country, with chaplains offering independent, confidential, impartial care to the railway community and members of the public effected by rail operations. Chaplains from the Christian charity, will be located throughout England, Scotland and Wales, and will provide support to their local communities on the following dates:

Planned dates for services throughout November

Executive director for the charity Railway Mission, Liam Johnston said: “Remembrance services are not intended to glorify war, trivialise sacrifice and loss experienced, but to both facilitate a corporate act of remembrance and to bring a connection between church and industry that can stimulate conversation and understanding. Chaplains are working to build on the success of the past and to enhance the chaplaincy and the relationship between stations and local churches.”
