TfL, Energy Garden, Kensington & Chelsea Council, and the local community are bringing a new green space to Latimer Road Tube station in a collaboration to brighten up the area for customers and the local community through greening and planting.
A garden from the Chelsea Flower show will be rebuilt exclusively by the station entrance, giving the display materials and plants a second life at the station.
The container garden, which will be ready by 30 May, will be developed by landscape designers Amelia Bouquet and Emilie Bausager, who are featured at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show. The display is a celebration of sustainable gardening and the important role it plays in people’s lives.
The garden will be maintained by Energy Garden and local residents.
Seb Dance, Deputy Mayor for Transport, said: “Green spaces and sustainable gardening play a huge role in offsetting the impacts of the climate crisis, and they can also brighten up everyone’s day.
“This garden is being funded by the Mayor and represents just one of the ways he is helping to build a better, greener London for everyone.”

“This garden is a great example of how we’re reinventing spaces on our network through greening and planting, to make stations a more pleasant and welcoming environment for everyone. This project is funded by the Mayor of London’s Future Neighbourhoods 2030 programme and will be maintained as part of the Energy Garden network. TfL and Energy Garden have teamed up to access some trackside spaces so that local community groups can create beautiful green spaces on London’s railways.
