RNEP to be published in “due course” says minister

The Rail Network Enhancement Pipeline (RNEP) update will be published in due course according to the new transport minister Kevin Foster. 

However, it is now more than 1,000 days since the last annual update was published. Shadow minister Tan Dhesi asked in Commons written question if the Secretary of State for Transport had made an assessment of the impact of the delay in publishing the RNEP. 

In a written reply on 15 September, transport minister Kevin Foster said: “We need to ensure the rail projects we take forward reflect demand whilst remaining affordable.

“It is important we are able to provide as much clarity and certainty as possible rather than potentially publish a misleading version. The Rail Network Enhancement Pipeline (RNEP) update will be published in due course.”
