Sabre Rail Services Ltd have been awarded their largest single contract to date by Network Rail for the overhaul of the brake systems on its fleet of 555 JNA ‘Falcon’ open box wagons.
Sabre Rail have previously supplied braking system maintenance and overhaul services on several other Network Rail wagon fleets but as the largest fleet, the Falcon wagons are critical to the ongoing maintenance and track renewal programmes of the whole UK track network.
The contract was won after a formal competitive tender process. The demanding requirement to deliver 10 wagon sets of brake equipment every 5 days will require exceptional planning and a pit stop approach to service.
