Save the date – LNER launches first calendar celebrating stations and destinations for 2021

London North Eastern Railway (LNER) has launched a limited edition calendar for the very first time, giving people the opportunity to display stunning images from the East Coast route in their own home.

The official LNER 2021 Calendar features 12 original images of the Azuma fleet on the LNER route, in stations, behind the scenes and reflecting some very special moments from recent LNER history such as Azuma being greeted by Mallard at York and Flying Scotsman at Darlington as part of its launch along the route.

Images have been captured by notable regional photographers from the route including Simon Williams from Newcastle and Charlotte Graham from Huddersfield.

LNER colleagues also submitted their finest images, which have been used to create a montage of photography within the calendar.

Destinations featured in the calendar include the iconic Crimple Valley Viaduct in Yorkshire, the picturesque Northumberland coast and the dramatic landscapes of the Scottish Highlands.

Kate McFerran, Director of Communications at LNER, said: “The first LNER Calendar has been created from the talent of some of our route’s local photographers as well as our colleagues who have captured Azuma in some stunning images.

“The calendar is a demonstration of how many beautiful destinations we serve and is an opportunity to relive some of our favourite moments since Azuma launched in 2019. We’re looking forward to customers filling it with plans for exciting journeys and trips away with us in 2021.”

The A4 luxury calendar and packaging is printed on fully recycled Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) approved silk paper, which can be recycled again. The design and printing of the calendar has been part of a collaboration with Ruddocks, a locally-based Lincolnshire supplier.

Anyone who would like to get their hands on the LNER Calendar for 2021 can now do so by pre-ordering a copy from the new LNER Shop, a website which also sells the LNER regionally inspired face coverings.

Customers can visit www.lnermerchandise.co.uk/ for more information and to make a purchase.
