Showcasing digital solutions for the railways

Three of the First of a Kind in Rail 2020 projects are working together on a joint demonstrator event to showcase their digital solutions.

“It is an exciting time to be developing technology which will help rebuild passenger confidence and attract people back to rail as the mode of choice,” said Liz Davidson, CMO at Estoerix.

The outcomes of the three products are independent but complementary.

· Cogitare will be showing Trainserv, performance monitoring software that helps operators improve timetables and service reliability;

· Liverpool John Moore’s University will be presenting IRIS, a real-time information and communication system that helps staff make better day-to-day operational decisions and improve service levels for passengers needing additional assistance; and

· Esoterix who are introducing GKT and CrowdAi, which enable operators to get to know their passengers as people and build stronger customer relationships through personalisation and more reliable information about crowding.

The projects are funded by the Department for Transport through the First of a Kind in Rail 2020 competition delivered by InnovateUK.

The demonstrator is taking place online from 2pm on Wednesday 17th March 2021. You can find out more at passengers-first.co.uk
