SIS – the PPE supplies business built by railway people, for railway people

With 39 years of experience between them working within the SWGR Group, Fiona Baggley and Linda Strang have seen it all. They are leading the team spearheading Specialist Industrial Supplies (SIS), a PPE supplier to companies across the UK. Earlier this week, railbusinessdaily.com covered the launch of SIS’s new website, www.sisupplies.co.uk – aimed at providing customers with a simple way of purchasing essential PPE items with a quick delivery turnaround at competitive prices.

Using their extensive knowledge of the rail industry, Linda and Fiona have developed the operations of the business to tailor them to the needs of companies working in the sector.

Fiona said: “Drawing on the understandings gained from working with the SWGR Group team, we have in-depth knowledge of the complex needs of contractors and SMEs when it comes to PPE and supplies.

“That is why we’ve introduced the ability to order emergency PPE with an on-call service available 24/7, so we can deliver supplies and workwear directly to site with customers where we have a framework in place.

“We know situations arise where PPE may be forgotten or misplaced which can result in lost project time, so we want to be part of the solution to give everyone peace of mind when it comes to something as simple as this.”

Embroidery, hot press printing and printing services are all available at short notice as part of a comprehensive dynamic branding facility that is available for all its customers on products from brands such as Pulsarail, Gore-Tex and Leo Workwear. These services were introduced to provide more cost-effective one-stop solutions for its customers and have been very popular so far.

“We know that providing the right services and products at the right prices with a personal service will go a long way. During these uncertain times, working with and supporting each other to provide such a specific, dedicated, and personal service has never been more important,” Fiona said.

“We want www.sisupplies.co.uk to be a quick and simple solution for everyone and, if they like what we do and the service we provide, they can then work with a team that truly understands the niche nature of the rail industry and what companies need on a longer term basis.

“Our team has a ‘can do, will do’ attitude, so I encourage anyone across the industry who procures PPE to have a look at our site, speak to us and see just how responsive and cost-effective we can be. We are open for business and standing by to support you.”
