SLC Rail welcomes Kathryn Waring as Head of Engineering

SLC Rail has announced the appointment of Chartered Civil Engineer, Kathryn Waring, as Head of Engineering.

Kathryn joins SLC Rail from Tony Gee and Partners where she was a Principal Engineer and Business Development Manager.  She also previously held a number of Senior positions in Carillion and Amey.

Sam Uren, Engineering Director at SLC Rail said: “We are very pleased to welcome Kathryn to head up the Engineering team, who brings over 20 years’ experience both in the UK and Australia.  Not only is she a well-respected Engineer, she also brings a passion for promoting the career to younger people through her valuable work as a STEM Ambassador.

“This new appointment further strengthens our engineering expertise as we continue to grow and help more clients design and deliver their transport aspirations.”

As a STEM Ambassador and the winner of STEM Ambassador of the year in 2014 for the Bath, Bristol and Somerset region, Kathryn will join SLC’s growing number of STEM Ambassadors to help promote STEM careers to our future generation of Engineers.
