Speakers announced for RIA Scotland Rail Summit

Rail industry leaders and stakeholders will be in Edinburgh on September 3, for an industry leading conference to discuss the strategic direction of the industry in Scotland.

Railway Industry Association (RIA) Scotland Rail Summit takes place at Dynamic Earth in the capital city, from 8.30am, and is expected to attract more than 100 industry leaders and senior players.

The event is open to all rail suppliers and stakeholders active in Scotland, and will feature panel discussions, presentations, an exhibition and question and answer sessions.

Among the speakers lined up to speak includes: Valerie Davidson, Chief Executive of Strathclyde Partnership for Transport, Hannah Ross, Head of Major Projects and Commissioning at the City of Edinburgh Council, Joseph Galloway, Lead Asset Strategy and Business Planning Manager at Scotland’s Railway, and Jo Maguire, MD at ScotRail.

Campbell Braid, Chair of Scotland’s leadership group, said: “The RIA Scotland Rail Summit at Dynamic Earth will provide key insights into CP7 and the Scottish rail market.

“Attendees will gain firsthand information on topics like Signalling Scotland’s Future, Glasgow Subway, Edinburgh Trams, and Climate Preparedness and the Delivery Plan for CP7.”

RIA Scotland supports rail suppliers across the nation, providing a voice for the sector. It works closely with the Scottish Government, Transport Scotland, Scotland’s Railway (ScotRail & Network Rail) and Members of the Scottish Parliament to represent the views of rail suppliers.

Campbell added: “The summit agenda includes an impressive line-up of guest speakers who will share their expertise and participate in interactive discussions, and delegates will better understand how RIA can support our members to deliver the renewals work bank for Scotland’s Railway in line with the efficiencies set out in the high-level output specification (HLOS).

“Given the event’s popularity, early booking is recommended to secure a place.”
