Support Ukraine Rail Task Force is asking for donations

The Support Ukraine Rail Task Force is asking for donations to help the war-torn country’s railways.

The Support Ukraine Rail Task Force was formed by Jolene Molitoris, former administrator of the US Federal Railroad Administration, Nick Brooks, secretary general of the Alliance of Rail New Entrants in Europe (ALLRAIL); Ray Chambers, president of the American Association for Innovative Passenger Rail Operations (AIPRO) and Robert VanderClute, former senior vice president of the Association of American Railroads (AAR) and former vice-chair of UIC.

Its purpose is to coordinate technical, mechanical, and policy support for Ukrainian freight and passenger rail companies as well as refugee trains.

Since its formation, it has been thanked by Ukrainian Railways.

The Task Force is now working with the German brand of charitable organisation United Way on a call for donations to raise funds for the railroad during the crisis.

The nature of the campaign is neutral, meaning that all proceeds go to the charitable rail sector.
