SYSTRA Ltd appoints a new operations director

SYSTRA Ltd has appointed Graeme Castle as its new operations director. He will take the lead in delivering a wide portfolio of major projects for the engineering and consultancy business in the UK and Ireland.

Graeme has more than 30 years’ experience which he brings to SYSTRA. Prior to joining the company, he was involved in the delivery of large infrastructure, construction and civil engineering projects, including Network Rail’s national electrification programme, Eglinton Crosstown, East West Rail, Crossrail, London Underground stations programme, and the Stafford and West Coast Main line upgrade. He has a wealth of leadership expertise and project delivery know-how that has been developed in senior roles at Aspin, ABC Electrification, Laing O’Rourke, Morgan Sindall and Balfour Beatty.

Graeme takes up a key role within SYSTRA UK & Ireland’s engineering division. He takes responsibility for the delivery of SYSTRA’s engineering project portfolio, including the Transpennine Route Upgrade, East Coast Power Supply Upgrade and HS2. Furthermore, Graeme will also lead the regionalisation of SYSTRA’s conventional rail and infrastructure activity, supporting its approach to client centricity.

Graeme said: “Having worked with SYSTRA in the past I see them as different to traditional UK consultancies in their approach to projects, the range of worldwide technical capability available and the way they engage with the market and clients. I am looking forward to being a part of the future business strategy and growth ambitions.”

In his spare time, Graeme enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, sailing and skiing.
