The Big Rail Diversity Challenge 2022: Enter Now!

Over recent decades barriers have been broken down and, as a society, we have come to realise and accept that not everyone fits the same mould. As a nation we are a diverse mix of genders, abilities and beliefs; so fundamentally it should follow that all employers embrace the wealth of talent available when recruiting and retaining staff.

Returning for its seventh event, Women in Rail and Nimble Media are proud to announce the launch of The Big Rail Diversity Challenge 2022, which will take place on Wednesday 22 June at Newark Showground.

Consisting of a series of physical, mental and skill based challenges, the event is designed specifically for the rail industry to promote the Women in Rail message:

Gender Diversity: Better for People, Better for Business, Better for Rail.

The Big Rail Diversity Challenge provides companies attending with the opportunity to network, team build and fundraise throughout the day, whilst promoting the benefits attained when adopting a gender balanced, diverse and inclusive workforce.

Women in Rail was created to improve diversity in the UK rail industry through providing networking opportunities and support for all women within the sector, to encourage companies and stakeholders to adopt diversity as a business strategy and devising initiatives aimed at positioning rail as an attractive career choice for young people.

Christine Fernandes, Chair of Women in Rail and Business Development for CAF said, “The Big Rail Diversity challenge is a flagship event for Women in Rail, it is a fantastic initiative that promotes and strengthens awareness of diversity within the workplace. It is a great opportunity to foster teamwork and collaboration whilst having fun.”

Since its launch in 2016, The Big Rail Diversity Challenge has truly captured the hearts and minds of the industry – which demonstrates the passion, support and enthusiasm for the brilliant work that Women in Rail undertakes. Growing by a staggering 80%, The Big Rail Diversity Challenge has become a staple in the industry’s event calendar, with many key industry stakeholders supporting year on year.
