Translink selects SISCOG to elevate operational excellence

SISCOG, a software company specialised in solutions for optimised resource scheduling, management and dispatching for public transport, has been selected by Translink through an international tender as the preferred partner to design, develop and maintain a new “Rail Validation System”.

ONTIME, FLEET and CREWS software products will be the cornerstones of the system that Translink envisions in alignment with its goal towards delivering its “Better, Connected” Strategy. Encompassing the long-term planning to the day-of-operation of train timetables, rolling stock and staff, including optimisation features, the cloud-hosted solution will facilitate the delivery of the new rail timetable in 2024, maximise efficiencies across the business, and ensure consistent management of those resources.

The project will be developed and maintained in partnership with Anaeko, a data engineering company responsible for solution hosting, integration and data migration.

“This system will support the internal Translink team in delivering an optimised and efficient service for our passengers”, says Richard Knox, Translink General Manager, Rail Services. “We look forward to working with the SISCOG team to use this enhanced technology to improve services, maximise the use of resources and ensure continued high quality performance.”

With a future-oriented mindset, Translink sought a new “Rail Validation System” capable of ensuring that new relevant underway or planned projects reach their full potential. These include the future Belfast Grand Central Station, due for completion late 2024, with 8 railway platforms, the new Rail Operating Centre, enhancing and centralising the three existing Railway Signalling Control points, and the new fleet.

Additionally, the system will aid in the planning and management of the Belfast-Dublin Enterprise train, operated in partnership with Irish Rail (Iarnród Éireann).

“We are honoured to have earned Translink’s trust for the design of the new “Rail Validation System”. Our team is eager to leverage our experience and expertise to deliver a system that elevates current operations and tackles future challenges head-on, ensuring Translink’s customers experience a best-in-class transport service.”, highlights Eurico Matos, SISCOG’s Head of Strategic Development.

With this new contract, SISCOG sees its client base in the United Kingdom reinforced, as Translink joins London Underground in optimising resources with the company’s solutions.
