TransPennine Express launches deal aimed at groups

TransPennine Express (TPE) has said it is launching a new promotion for groups of travellers, giving a 20 per cent discount as well as providing a single-step booking process.

This new booking system and discount is aimed at groups of 10 or more.

A dedicated booking team will be on hand to answer questions and make all of the arrangements, including ensuring those in the group are sat together.

TPE is also offering parties of 10 or more 20 per cent off the price of Advance Purchase tickets when travelling together on the same train.

The new booking system can be accessed online here, where full terms and conditions can also be found.

Darren Higgins, commercial director for TransPennine Express, said: “We are thrilled to have brought in these changes to our booking system, along with discounted travel for groups of 10 or more, making it even easier for larger parties to use our trains.

“Our network connects towns and cities right across the North and into Scotland, and we want to do all we can to provide a real alternative to travelling by road, encouraging those including larger groups to take the train and travel in a more sustainable way.”

TPE is on track to reduce carbon emissions by 30 per cent per vehicle kilometre by April 2023. Its Nova train fleet, which includes bi-mode and electric trains, helps reduce customers’ CO2 emissions by 77 per cent compared to travelling by an average car.

The 20 per cent off discount applies to both First and Standard class Advance Purchase tickets, and is valid for travel on any TPE service, subject to availability, excluding dates impacted by current RMT strike action.
