Transport charity announces dates for Better Transport Week 2024

After the success of last summer’s Better Transport Week, Campaign for Better Transport has decided to make the week-long celebration of sustainable transport an annual event with Better Transport Week 2024 taking place from Monday 17 to Sunday 23 June.

Better Transport Week aims to celebrate and promote the wide range of benefits of public transport, shared mobility, walking and cycling to the public and encourage more people to travel sustainably

Last year more than 100 organisations supported the week including the Department for Transport, local authorities, transport industry, NGOs, businesses and passenger groups.

Public events gave people the chance to get involved in the week or take advantage of partner discounts and special offers. Industry events provided opportunities to network and share transport best practice.

The week is organised by Campaign for Better Transport. Paul Tuohy, Chief Executive of the charity, said: “We originally intended to use Better Transport Week to mark our 50th anniversary year, but after the overwhelmingly positive response from the public and the transport industry alike, we have decided to make the week an annual celebration of sustainable transport.

“This year we are planning to make it bigger and better and there will be even more opportunities for organisations, groups and individuals to get involved in Better Transport Week 2024 and help us to celebrate sustainable transport in all its forms. Trains and trams, buses and coaches, walking, cycling and shared transport, are ready to take us to a greener future – let’s get on board!”
