Mr Merriman, who is the newly appointed Rail Minister, previously chaired the Transport Select Committee between 2020 and 2022

Anit Chandarana, Lead Director at Great British Railways Transition Team, with Chris White-Horne, DfT Programme Director, Rail Transformation Programme will give an update on the programme, while Maggie Simpson OBE, Director General at Rail Freight Group, will focus on growth opportunities for freight in 2023 and how to overcome challenges presented by rail reform in her speech.

Other key talking points under discussion will be, how to improve customer experience and meeting passenger needs, how to unlock and accelerate innovation and technology in the rail sector, and the role of rail in delivering “Levelling Up”.
